'Walking Dead' Actor Scott Wilson Charged with DUI

Scott Wilson, an actor on AMC's "The Walking Dead," was arrested for DUI in Peachtree City on Saturday, Channel 2 Action News reports. During his arrest, Wilson allegedly admitted to drinking and offered to perform yoga moves.

While Wilson is a Los Angeles native, he's been in Coweta County filming a new season of "The Walking Dead." In the show, Wilson plays an alcoholic farm owner. Maybe the whole incident was a Brando-esque method-acting exercise to help Wilson get into his character's headspace?

Wilson was stopped about 2 a.m. on Highway 74 after a caller reported someone in a PT Cruiser driving erratically, according to authorities. Wilson told the officer that he was driving his sister's car back from dinner in Senoia and admitted to drinking scotch and wine at dinner.

Then things got weird. After exiting his car, "The Walking Dead's" Scott Wilson asked the officer if he knew his cousin, saying his name was Miller. He then changed the name to Wilson.

Wilson was swaying during field sobriety tests, the officer reported. In a possible attempt to get out of the charges on his star power, Wilson told the officer his spine was out of joint "due to a role in a television series." He then asked to perform yoga moves instead of the requested walk-and-turn test.

A Breathalyzer test showed that Wilson had a blood alcohol level of .143 percent, nearly twice the legal limit in Georgia. "He then stated that if I was going to bust him that I should, because he doesn't care," the officer reported, according to Channel 2.

Under Georgia law, it's illegal to operate a vehicle with a BAC of .08 percent or greater. If Scott Wilson is found guilty of the DUI charge, he could face 10 days to 12 months in prison, a fine of up to $1,000, at least 40 hours of community service, and an alcohol-use risk-reduction program. On top of that, Wilson may find himself walking to "The Walking Dead" set if his license is suspended.
